The XL meeting of the OSJD Conference of General Directors of Railways has opened in the capital of Kazakhstan.

Notably, this year the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD) celebrates its 70th anniversary.

Thus, the anniversary XL meeting of the OSJD Committee of State Directors is taking place in Kazakhstan – in the center of Eurasia, at the intersection of strategic transport corridors.

The Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD) was established in 1956 and is an international organization focused on developing international rail transport, creating a unified railway legal space, and enhancing the competitiveness of transcontinental routes.

The event brought together representatives from approximately 30 countries, including China, Russia, Hungary, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Poland, Estonia, Armenia, Georgia, South Korea, and others. Key decisions on developing international transit, synchronizing transport corridors, and improving transportation efficiency in Eurasia are being discussed in Astana.

The meeting's agenda includes the results of OSJD's work, the development of freight and passenger transportation, infrastructure, digitalization, and personnel training. Following the meeting, further areas of cooperation will be identified and a work program for the coming period will be approved.
