13-08-2026
On August 12, at 12:52 PM, a Volkswagen T4 vehicle came to a halt on a manned, signal-controlled railway crossing along the Karaganda-Sortirovochnaya – Astana section due to a clutch failure.
The driver of a freight train weighing over 1.1 thousand tons, traveling at a speed of 76 km/h, applied emergency braking and successfully prevented a collision. The crossing signaling systems were operating properly.
Railway workers promptly cleared the tracks. The train delay amounted to 10 minutes.
Information regarding the incident has been forwarded to the police department at the Temirtau station.
KTZ urges drivers to obey traffic regulations and strictly comply with safety requirements when navigating railway crossings.
