Vector of Strategic Partnership: International Competition of Railway Workers

The III International Competition of Professional Mastery at border railway stations of Kazakhstan and China took place at the Dostyk and Alashankou stations, bringing together the best specialists of the steel mainlines from both countries. Today, the railway connection between Kazakhstan and China demonstrates a steady growth in cargo traffic volumes.

The border crossings operate around the clock, ensuring the transit of goods. However, behind the millions of tons and strict train schedules always stands the human factor—the professionalism of those who daily ensure the seamless connection of two of the largest transport systems.

With the aim of strengthening bilateral ties, exchanging advanced experience, and raising the prestige of working professions, this professional mastery competition was organized. The event was held at a high organizational level, serving as a bright testament to the strengthening cross-border partnership.

 

The scale and significance of the competition were underscored by the composition of the delegations. The Kazakh delegation was led by Orazgali Akhmetbayev, Chairman of the NGO "Kazakh Branch Professional Union of Workers of Railway, Automotive, Air and Water Transport." The Chinese side at Dostyk station was represented by Mr. Liu An, Chairman of the China Railway Workers' Union and Deputy General Director of Urumqi Railway LLC, alongside leading experts, heads of departments, and honored guests whose work is directly related to the development of border infrastructure.

At Alashankou station, the PRC delegation was led by Mr. Cheng Xiandun, Chairman of the All-China Federation of Railway Workers' Unions, and was also attended by Mr. Gao Jian, Chairman of the Board of Urumqi Railway LLC. In total, representatives from the Altynkol, Dostyk, Khorgos, and Alashankou stations participated in the competition.

The Kazakhstan school of railway workers was represented on the international stage by recognized masters of their craft—production leaders defending the honor of key border hubs: the Dostyk and Altynkol stations.

Following the intense competition, the leaders who achieved the best results were announced. True dedication to the profession, flawless skill, and top-tier capabilities were demonstrated by the following specialists: train shunter/marshallers Didar Asker (Altynkol), Baglan Saganayev (Dostyk), Yerkanat Kuandykov (Altynkol), and Abylay Muratov (Dostyk); wagon inspectors Amangeldy Dutbayev (Altynkol), Yerlan Zhanbolysov (Dostyk), Nurmukhambet Kasymkhan (Altynkol), and Edil Zhumabayev (Dostyk); crane operators Dias Bazarбаев (Dostyk) and Rustem Omarov (Altynkol); and reach stacker drivers Medet Zhiientayev (Altynkol) and Baglan Suyinishov (Dostyk).

The winners and runners-up were awarded special statuettes and prizes.
