A unique railway bridge across the Syrdarya river is under construction in the Turkistan region

19-05-2026

As part of the construction of the Darbaza – Maktaaral railway line, one of the project's largest engineering structures is being built—a metal railway bridge over the Syrdarya River, measuring over 500 meters in length.

The six-span bridge is a complex engineering structure with a reinforced design. The length of the two shore spans is 66 meters each, while the four intermediate spans measure 88 meters each. The depth of the bored foundation piles reaches 38 meters on the shore piers and up to 41 meters in the riverbed, ensuring high stability and reliability of the facility.

To date, the installation of five spans has been completed, and work continues on the installation of the final 88-meter span structure.

The new bridge will become an important part of the 152-kilometer railway line that will connect Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan.

The construction of this complex bridge is being carried out by specialists from a Kazakhstani construction company.
