27-06-2026

In the Kyzylorda Region, the reconstruction of the railway stations at the Zhanakorgan and Shieli stations has been completed. The implementation of these projects aims to improve the quality of passenger service, ensure safety, and develop a modern transport infrastructure.

The railway station at the Zhanakorgan station, built in 1976, has been completely renovated. Following the reconstruction, the total floor area of the three-story building is 922.3 square meters.

During the works, the roof was replaced, both exterior and interior finishing were completed, and the engineering networks for water supply, sewage, heating, and power supply were modernized. Additionally, the surrounding area and the platform were landscaped, and modern equipment and furniture were installed.

The facade of the building is clad with travertine, and the plinth is made of Kazakhstani-produced granite tiles. Modern aluminum curtain walls with energy-saving, domestically manufactured double-glazed windows were installed, which increased the natural light levels and energy efficiency of the building.

The Zhanakorgan railway station is classified as Class III. The average daily passenger traffic is around 220 people. Thirty passenger trains run through the station, connecting the region with Astana, Almaty, Kyzylorda, Aktobe, Kokshetau, the Mangistau region, Oral, Turkestan, Petropavlovsk, as well as with Russia and Uzbekistan.

The Shieli railway station, originally built in 1904, has also been completely modernized. The total floor area of the one-story building is 636.4 square meters.

During the reconstruction, the roof, facade, and interior spaces were renovated, engineering networks were modernized, the surrounding area and the platform were landscaped, and new equipment and furniture were installed. The facade is clad with travertine, and the plinth is made of Kazakhstani-produced granite tiles. Modern aluminum curtain walls with energy-saving double-glazed windows were installed, and modern thermal insulation materials, non-combustible finishing materials, acoustic linear ceilings, and wear-resistant floor coverings were applied.

The Shieli railway station is classified as Class III. The average daily passenger traffic is around 310 people.
