Two Passenger Infrastructure Facilities Modernized in Jetisu Region

The modernization of passenger infrastructure at Akshi station and the reconstruction of Koktuma railway station have been completed in the Jetisu region.

At Akshi station, the construction of a modern passenger shelter has been finished. An open, one-story structure with a metal frame was erected, featuring a complex-shaped profiled-sheet roof equipped with ridge vents for natural ventilation and a structured drainage system. A 1.2-meter-high metal fence has been installed along the perimeter of the shelter to ensure passenger safety. The new canopy provides comfortable conditions for passengers waiting for trains at any time of the year.

Fourteen passenger trains run through Akshi station, providing connections to Almaty, Astana, Karaganda, Balkhash, Aktogay, and Dostyk.

At the Koktuma railway station, which was built in 1958, a comprehensive set of construction and installation works has been performed. The roofing, exterior and interior finishing of the building, modernization of domestic water supply, sewerage, and heating systems, as well as the installation of power and low-voltage communications, have all been completed. During the summer travel season, up to 14 passenger trains pass through the station, connecting it to Almaty, Astana, Karaganda, Balkhash, and Dostyk.

The implementation of these projects aims to improve passenger service quality, create comfortable and safe conditions at railway infrastructure sites, and support the further development of the Jetisu region's transport network.
