Second Stage of Modernization Completed on Kandayagash–Tobol Railway Section

JSC "NC "KTZ" has successfully completed another stage of modernization on the Kandayagash–Tobol section. As of August 29, the 2nd startup complex for the construction of automatic block signaling on the Nikeltau–Ayteke Bi section (183 km) has been completed. The total length of the updated sections under the project reached 336 km, or 51%, significantly increasing its throughput capacity:
A microprocessor-based automatic block signaling system was implemented on a 183-km section.
Four new passing loops were constructed and launched.
The electrical interlocking system of 8 operating stations and 4 new separation points was integrated with the microprocessor-based automatic block signaling.
An additional receiving and departure track was constructed at the Zhosa passing loop.
The works at the facility were completed according to the approved schedule, achieving the following:
8.9 km of track panels were laid.
28 turnouts were installed.
164 km of cable lines were laid.
Over 200,000 solder joints of station wiring (67,200 relay contact groups) were executed at the electrical interlocking posts.
A comprehensive interaction check of all systems was performed.
To complete the works during the technological "window," more than 100 engineers and specialists in automation, telemechanics, and communications worked around the clock. To provide them with proper sanitary and living conditions, 12 specialized crew cars were deployed.
Out of the total work volume of 2,964 km across the entire network, 1,619 km (or 54%) has been completed, with 1,345 km remaining.
