Reconstruction of two railway stations completed in Karaganda region

The reconstruction of the Moiynty and Agadyr railway stations has been completed in the Karaganda Region. During the modernization, both stations underwent roof installation, exterior and interior finishing, upgrades to water supply, sewage, heating, and power supply utility networks, as well as platform reconstruction and landscaping of the surrounding areas.

The reconstruction was conducted as part of the railway infrastructure modernization program in fulfillment of the Head of State's directive. The project received support from the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport, the Akimat of the Atyrau Region, and Samruk-Kazyna JSC. It was funded through the own resources of NC KTZ JSC.

The stations have been equipped with modern furniture and equipment. Durable, fire-resistant, Kazakh-produced materials were used for the finishing works, and new emergency exits were installed in compliance with fire safety regulations.

The Moiynty railway station, built in 1936, was reconstructed while preserving its existing two-story building and basement, covering an area of 862.36 square meters. The station belongs to Type 1. Its average daily passenger traffic stands at 191 people. A total of 34 passenger trains run through the station daily, providing connections to Astana, Karaganda, Balkhash, Semey, Kokshetau, Kyzylorda, Shymkent, Turkestan, Taraz, Dostyk, Kostanay, Pavlodar, and Petropavl, as well as to Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

The Agadyr railway station, also built in 1936, was renovated while maintaining its existing one-story building with an area of 595.4 square meters. The station is classified as Class III. It handles an average daily passenger flow of 305 people. Thirty-eight passenger trains pass through the station every day, linking the region with Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Taraz, Shymkent, Turkestan, Pavlodar, Kostanay, Kokshetau, Burabay Resort, Petropavl, Semey, and Ayagoz, as well as with Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

The upgrade of these stations is part of a large-scale modernization program covering 124 railway stations across the country.

The consistent renewal of the passenger infrastructure aims to improve transport service quality, boost regional development, and create comfortable conditions for residents and visitors of Kazakhstan.
