Reconstruction of Taldykorgan Railway Station Completed

The reconstruction of the railway station has been completed in the city of Taldykorgan. The project was carried out as part of the station infrastructure modernization program of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna," and the Akimat of the Zhetysu Region.

The project aims to improve the quality of passenger service, develop regional transport accessibility, and boost the tourism potential of the Zhetysu Region.

The railway station, originally built in 1947, has been brought into compliance with modern safety, comfort, and energy efficiency standards. Due to growing passenger traffic, the building's area was expanded from 288.1 to 328.12 square meters. The passenger infrastructure was also modernized: the length of the passenger platform was increased from 110.6 to 198 meters, ensuring a more comfortable and safer boarding and disembarking experience for passengers.

The facility is fully ready for operation.

During the reconstruction, the architectural appearance of the building was updated, and the engineering networks and passenger infrastructure were modernized. Kazakhstani-made construction materials were used, including facade and interior finishing solutions. Modern amenities for passenger waiting and service have been created.

Special attention was paid to creating a barrier-free environment. For the convenience of passengers with reduced mobility, the station is equipped with ramps, adapted restrooms, accessible routes, and tactile navigation elements. The implemented solutions enhance the accessibility of the station for passengers with disabilities, the elderly, and parents with children.

The station serves as an important transport hub for the region and has been brought into line with modern passenger service standards, taking into account current requirements for service quality, safety, and comfort.

Since April of this year, passenger service has been launched on the Astana – Taldykorgan – Astana route, contributing to the strengthening of the region's transport connectivity.

The completed reconstruction has allowed for the creation of more comfortable conditions for passengers and has improved the quality of the services provided.
