The reconstruction of the Sarybel railway station, originally built in 1965, has been completed in the Karaganda region. Following the renovation, a modern, single-story station complex covering an area of 487.4 square meters has been opened.
The facility was upgraded as part of the railway infrastructure modernization program, in fulfillment of the Head of State's directive, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport, the Akimat of the Karaganda Region, and Samruk-Kazyna JSC.
The renovation included updates to the building's roof, facade, and interior spaces, along with a complete replacement of engineering networks for water supply, sewerage, heating, and power supply. The passenger platform was reconstructed, the adjacent territory was landscaped, and new equipment and furniture were installed.
The Sarybel station is classified as a Type 1 facility. Every day, 12 passenger trains pass through the station, connecting the region with Astana, Karaganda, Semey, Zhezkazgan, Kyzylorda, Kostanay, and Pavlodar.
The project was financed through the internal funds of NC KTZ JSC.
The modernization of the station will improve the quality of passenger service, create more comfortable conditions for waiting for trains, and enhance the region's transport infrastructure.
