Reconstruction of Kurort-Borovoye railway station completed

In line with the directives of the Head of State and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan aimed at developing and modernizing the transport infrastructure, the reconstruction of the Kurort-Borovoye railway station has been completed.

Built in 1988, the railway station is a Class 1 facility designed to serve passengers and transit flows. The average daily passenger traffic is around 1,601 people, reaching up to 2,000 passengers per day during the summer season. The station services up to 30 trains running to major cities in Kazakhstan (Astana, Almaty, Atyrau, Petropavl, Kyzylorda, Oral, Karaganda), as well as CIS countries, including Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The total area of the three-story building is 3,200.7 m².

During the reconstruction, the facade and the plinth of the building were renovated using Kazakhstani-made materials. Modern energy-saving stained-glass windows were installed, and the roof was completely replaced with the installation of thermal and hydro-insulation.

The interior spaces were modernized using modern non-combustible and wear-resistant materials, ensuring the comfort and safety of passengers.

To ensure accessibility for people with reduced mobility, ramps and lifts were installed (two outdoor and one indoor), as well as elevator equipment providing access from the 1st to the 3rd floor of the building. Tactile navigation has been set up, and a dedicated waiting room for passengers with reduced mobility has been equipped.

Engineering systems were modernized, including ventilation and fire alarm systems. Utility networks were updated, increasing the reliability and energy efficiency of the facility.

The station is equipped with vandal-resistant seats for passengers. For the convenience of travelers, waiting areas, dining areas, and retail kiosks are provided.

Following the reconstruction, the Kurort-Borovoye railway station has been brought into compliance with modern safety requirements, sanitary norms, and passenger service quality standards.

Reconstruction and modernization works at railway stations across the country's regions continue as part of a systemic program to renew passenger infrastructure, aimed at the gradual improvement of service quality and the development of the transport network.
