Passenger trains in Kazakhstan have begun preparing for the summer season
13-04-2026
KTZ's subsidiary Passenger Transportation JSC is preparing over 2,000 passenger cars for summer service. The work is being carried out according to regulations and covers the full range of technical maintenance and sanitization of the cars.
Car preparation includes a full cycle of scheduled preventive maintenance. Maintenance includes scheduled inspections of undercar equipment and undercarriages, diagnostics of water supply, power supply, and ventilation systems, exterior car body washing and bogie cleaning, vestibules and handrail painting, and window inspections, cleaning, and replacement of rubber seals. All identified defects are being corrected. Particular attention is paid to the cars' restrooms: toilet modules are repaired and maintained, including double cleaning, disinfection, replacement of worn components, and restoration of system integrity.
Before each trip, a commission inspects the trains; only fully prepared carriages are permitted for operation.
As a reminder, passenger transportation in the country is provided by Passenger Transportation JSC and 14 other private railway companies.
