Over 84 million tons of cargo transported via KTZ network in first four months of 2026

During January–April 2026, cargo transportation volume on the KTZ network reached 84.4 million tons.
Domestic shipments accounted for 54.0 million tons. Export shipments grew by 8% to 30.4 million tons.
Coal traditionally forms the backbone of the freight traffic. During the reporting period, 35.3 million tons of coal were transported, up 3.3% from 2025. Out of this total, 24.4 million tons were delivered to Kazakhstani consumers, and 9.9 million tons were exported.
Positive dynamics were also recorded in the grain transportation segment. Grain shipments rose by 13% to 5.3 million tons. Grain exports increased by 14.4%, reaching 4.2 million tons.
Additionally, shipments of milling products grew by 3% to 1 million tons. Animal feed shipments surged by 62% to 1.3 million tons.
During the four months of 2026, the network carried 6.3 million tons of petroleum cargo, 6.6 million tons of non-ferrous ore, and 4.3 million tons of construction materials.
Growth was noted across several key commodity groups: ferrous metals increased by 7.2% to 2.5 million tons, chemical fertilizers rose by 3.7% to 1.7 million tons, and iron and manganese ore grew by 1.3% to 6.7 million tons.
