Modernization at Kuryk port: capacity has increased
30-07-2026
Port Kuryk LLP has successfully completed the modernization of its linkspans (adjustable ramp bridges) PPM-1 and PPM-2. This step has significantly accelerated logistics processes and optimized cargo handling, marking an important milestone in the development of the port infrastructure and the enhancement of ferry processing efficiency.
As part of the modernization, the operational capabilities of the bridges were expanded, which allowed reducing the turnaround time for railway ferries from 18 to 12 hours, and for automobile ferries from 10 to 6 hours.
The implemented technical solutions also increased the capacity of railway ferries from 40 to 48 wagons, thereby boosting transportation volumes and the overall throughput capacity of the port.
The infrastructure upgrade strengthens Port Kuryk's position as a strategic hub on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and opens up new prospects for realizing the transit potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
