24-03-2026
Talks were held in Beijing between Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KTZ, and Guo Zhuxue, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Railways. This is the third meeting in a short period of time, demonstrating the close cooperation between the railway administrations of Kazakhstan and China.
During the talks, the Chinese side noted with satisfaction the systematic and sustainable growth in freight traffic volumes for 2025, and the parties outlined plans for further increasing transportation volumes and train exchanges through interstate border crossings in 2026.
Particular attention was paid to the joint development of container services on key routes: TITR, China-Europe, China-Central Asia, and China-Russia.
To strengthen transit potential, the parties agreed to increase the number of container trains, thoroughly digitalize interaction processes, and pre-share information on transportation planning and management.
Large-scale work will also affect infrastructure projects: plans include synchronizing the construction of second tracks on the Alashankou-Dostyk section, developing terminal facilities, and modernizing the Altynkol-Khorgos and Khorgos-Jinghe sections.
A separate agenda item was the implementation of the third cross-border railway crossing project, Bakhty-Tacheng, including the determination of projected volumes and types of cargo.
Furthermore, to strengthen cultural ties, the parties discussed the launch of a tourist train from China to cities in Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries.
