KTZ is implementing new logistics solutions to increase the speed of transportation on the TITR

14-04-2026

As part of the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), Kazakhstan Temir Zholy is implementing new logistics approaches aimed at increasing the speed of container transportation.

In the first quarter of 2026, 125 container trains were transported along the TITR route, a 34.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

Since January 2026, a new model for forming container trains based on the "4:3" and "3:2" principles has been implemented. This model allows for the synchronization of rail and sea transportation and the formation of container trains directly for shiploads. This eliminates the need for additional cargo accumulation and significantly reduces handling time.

Practical implementation is already showing results: 28 container train shipments have been dispatched under the project. Shipments have been made to key logistics hubs, including Absheron, Poti, Tbilisi, Mersin, and Izmit.

At the same time, the geographic scope of the cargo base is expanding. In addition to Xi'an, which accounted for approximately 50% of shipments in 2025, new industrial centers of China—Zhengzhou, Yiwu, Hefei, Wuhan, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, as well as the stations of Dongjiazhen and Jinan—are actively joining the route.

This confirms the sustained interest of China's manufacturing and trade clusters in the TITR as a key Eurasian logistics route.

Based on the achieved results and the reduction in delivery times, plans are underway to scale up the use of the synchronized "4:3" and "3:2" models and ensure regular shipments along the TITR throughout the year.
