KTZ central office employees were demonstrated modern track modernization technologies

The second demonstration technological "window" for railway track modernization was held on the OP-116 – Shiderty section of the Pavlodar Mainline Network Department, with the participation of KTZ central office employees.

The event was organized to share operational experience, demonstrate modern track repair technologies, and showcase the effective use of track maintenance machinery.
As part of the 60-hour technological "window", a continuous replacement of reinforced concrete sleepers was completed on the 263–266 km section of the odd track.

Participants were shown the full cycle of track works:

• laying of 5,520 reinforced concrete sleepers;
• installation and tightening of intermediate fastenings;
• deep cleaning of ballast;
• distribution of new crushed stone;
• flash-butt welding of joints;
• leveling, tamping, lining, and stabilization of 3 km of track.
   

Modern track maintenance machinery was utilized in the operations:

• SMD-80 track renewal train;
• RM-80 ballast cleaning machine;
• ELB-4S power ballaster;
• VPO-S tamping-leveling-lining machine;
• Duomatic tamping machine;
• PRSM-4 rail welding machine.
   

Following the event, the participants discussed issues regarding the improvement of track work technologies and enhancing the quality of repair processes.
