KTZ and RZD are developing seamless digital transit and increasing transportation volumes

A bilateral meeting between Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KTZ, and Oleg Belozerov, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of J OJSC Russian Railways, took place at the 1st International Transport and Logistics Forum in St. Petersburg.
The parties noted the steady positive dynamics in transportation: in the first two months of 2026, freight traffic between Kazakhstan and Russia amounted to 15.2 million tons, 3.8% higher than the same period in 2025. Thus, the growth recorded last year has been maintained this year.
It was emphasized that transit remains the key driver of cooperation. Over the past seven years, container transit between Russia and China through Kazakhstan has increased 16-fold, from 33,000 to 550,000 TEUs.
The meeting also addressed the synchronized development of interstate junctions and the advancement of digitalization, including the development of seamless digital transit. Implementing these initiatives will reduce delivery times and improve supply stability.
Furthermore, at the plenary session "The New Geography of Global Trade: Uniting Continents," Bauyrzhan Urynbasarov, Managing Director for Production Processes at JSC NC KTZ, delivered a report on the integration of international transport corridors and the synchronized development of infrastructure, presenting key results and plans for the implementation of major railway projects, as well as prospects for the development of cross-border transportation.
