KTZ and Estonian Railways Discuss Development of New Transport Routes Between Asia and Europe

Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of NC KTZ JSC, held a meeting with Merle Kurvits, Chairman of the Management Board of Estonian Railways JSC. The executives discussed the expansion of freight transportation, infrastructure modernization, and the creation of new logistics services between Central Asia and Europe.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state of cooperation and outlined strategic prospects for the partnership. The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening long-term ties and reviewed joint projects within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).

The meeting participants paid special attention to digitalization and infrastructure monitoring. The sides exchanged practical experience in railway track maintenance, studied modern diagnostic methods, and discussed the implementation of digital technologies to increase the efficiency of the transportation process.

The agenda also included a discussion on the development of multimodal transportation and the attraction of new freight flows. Issues of interaction with Estonian seaports were reviewed, and steps were outlined to increase the volumes of cargo transportation along the Kazakhstan – Baltic States – Europe route.

Following the negotiations, the sides reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen the partnership and develop joint transport and logistics projects.
