KTZ and CR Cooperation: Talgat Aldybergenov Meets with Wang Jinxi

A meeting between Talgat Aldybergenov, Head of KTZ, and Wang Jinxi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and a Member of the Board of Directors of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd.  (CR), took place at KTZ as part of the 40th meeting of the OSJD Conference of General Directors.

The parties noted the highly effective nature of their well-coordinated cooperation, which enables them to consistently achieve the objectives of developing the transit and transport potential of the two countries.

The steady growth in these indicators is confirmed by statistics: in the first quarter of 2026, transportation volume increased by 9.3%, reaching 9.1 million tons, underscoring the growing demand for transport corridors passing through Kazakhstan and China.

Particular attention during the talks was paid to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and the digital transformation of these routes. In the first quarter of 2026, 125 container trains were transported via the TITR, a 34.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
 

Significant progress has also been made in expanding infrastructure. The parties thanked each other for their prompt work in coordinating the Intergovernmental Agreement on the construction of the Dostyk-Alashankou railway section and agreed to actively advance the approval of the document on the construction of the third border crossing between Bakhty and Tacheng.

The synergy between KTZ and CR is the main driver of economic growth for both countries, transforming their geographical advantage into a powerful tool for trade integration between East and West.
