The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of transport and logistics cooperation between Kazakhstan and China. The focus was on increasing rail traffic volumes, eliminating barriers at border crossings, and strengthening coordination and synchronization of activities at the junction of the two countries.
Particular emphasis was placed on the following:
- increasing the volume of bilateral freight traffic;
- reducing train downtime at the border;
- simplifying procedures for receiving grain cargo from Kazakhstan to China;
- infrastructure development and the launch of second tracks on the Alashankou-Dostyk section;
- discussion of the new Bakhty-Tachen line, including the range of cargoes.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership in the transport sector and expressed confidence that joint efforts will create a sustainable, efficient, and mutually beneficial transport corridor between the two countries.
It was noted that today, Kazakhstan serves as a reliable land bridge between East and West, providing China with sustainable access to markets in Europe, the Middle East, and the Caspian region. Thanks to the joint efforts of the railways, transportation volumes increased by 11% in 2025, reaching 35.6 million tons.
It was also emphasized that the parties attach particular importance to the development of the TITR. In 2025, container transit along the TITR showed a 15% increase, reaching 36,000 TEUs.
