Dredging at the Port of Aktau will increase the throughput capacity of the TITR route

Geodetic surveys have been completed at the Port of Aktau as part of the port water area dredging project.Dredging operations in the sea harbor’s waters will increase the throughput capacity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and enhance maritime safety.

The transit draft in the port area will be increased to 6–7 meters, enabling vessels to be fully loaded and improving cargo handling efficiency

As part of the preparatory phase, the mobilization of a specialized dredging fleet, machinery, and equipment is underway. Concurrently, the construction of a containment dike is continuing at the reclamation site. To date, 680 meters have been embanked out of the structure's total length of 785 meters.

The start of the main dredging operations is scheduled for the second half of July this year. The project is planned to be fully completed by the end of this year.
