Constitutional reforms and the upcoming referendum were discussed at the Nurly Zhol railway station

An informational and explanatory meeting dedicated to the key provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the significance of the upcoming national referendum was held at the Nurly Zhol railway station complex in the capital.

Prominent government and public figures, as well as legal experts, participated in the event: Marat Sovetovich Bashimov, Member of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Tabigat Kabdenovich Zeinulkabden, Chairman of the Astana City Maslikhat; Vladislav Alekseyevich Sergeyev, Member of the Astana City Maslikhat; and Yermek Bayakhmetovich Abdrasulov, Doctor of Law, Professor at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

The main goal of the meeting was to popularize constitutional values ​​and explain to citizens the legal mechanisms for participating in the referendum. The speakers emphasized that the planned changes are aimed at further democratizing the political system and strengthening human rights protection guarantees.

Mazhilis Deputy Marat Bashimov noted that direct citizen participation in decision-making through a referendum is the highest manifestation of popular sovereignty. Professor Yermek Abdrasulov provided a detailed legal commentary on the amendments, emphasizing their compliance with international standards.

Representatives of the Astana Maslikhat (Maslikhat) – Tabigat Zeinulkabden and Vladislav Sergeyev – emphasized the importance of civic engagement among the capital's residents in their speeches. The format of the meeting at a transport infrastructure facility allowed for a wide audience, including station employees and passengers.

Meeting participants were able to answer questions regarding voting procedures and the legal implications of the proposed reforms.
