Chairman of the Management Board of KTZ visited railway facilities in Mangystau region

Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC, paid a working visit to the Mangystau region, where he visited the ports of Kuryk and Aktau, as well as Kaskor-Transservice JSC.

During the on-site meetings, the parties discussed the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, interaction between rail and maritime transport, digitalization of production processes, improving transport efficiency, and enhancing working conditions for employees.

Special attention was paid to the development of the Kuryk port as one of the key logistical hubs of the Trans-Caspian route. In the first five months of 2026, the volume of cargo handling through the port reached 731,000 tons. It was noted that the port possesses high potential for attracting additional cargo flows between the countries of Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Turkiye.

Following the meeting, KTZ management issued instructions to ensure the fulfillment of planned cargo transportation targets, organize uninterrupted processing of transit cargo, intensify marketing efforts to attract new clients, and ensure the implementation of the "New Trans-Caspian Ferry System" project based at the Kuryk port.

A separate block of issues was dedicated to social policy. The Chairman of the Management Board emphasized that elevating the role of the working person remains one of the company's key priorities. Instructions were given to place special control over providing workers with protective clothing, improving sanitary and living conditions, increasing the Social Stability Index indicators, and continuing the implementation of the "Zhumys Zhasaimyn" employment program jointly with the Akimat of the Mangystau region.

At the port of Aktau, issues of increasing the enterprise's operational efficiency were reviewed. From January to May 2026, the transshipment volume exceeded 2 million tons. Due to the declining level of the Caspian Sea, special attention was paid to the implementation of the dredging project for the port's water area.
