Chairman of the Management board of KTZ Inspects locomotive and passenger Fleets

Yelzhas Otynshiyev, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", made an introductory working visit to the technical yard of the Astana station. During the visit, the head of the company was briefed on the current state of the locomotive and passenger wagon fleets.

At the technical yard of the Astana station, the current rolling stock structure of the company was presented to the Chairman of the Management Board of KTZ. Today, the total locomotive fleet of KTZ consists of 1,813 units, including 783 mainline diesel locomotives, 574 mainline electric locomotives, and 456 shunting diesel locomotives.

The Chairman of the Management Board was briefed on the equipment, technical specifications, and capabilities of modern traction rolling stock models, including the TE36A, TE33AS, TEP33A, KZ6A, KZ4AT, and SKD6S models. It was noted that the modernization and digitalization of locomotives significantly improve the energy efficiency of freight and passenger transportation.

In addition, the head of the company inspected the passenger coach fleet and toured the new RWS Wagon carriages. The passenger fleet consists of 2,139 wagons, including 426 RWS Wagon carriages, 737 Tulpar-Talgo wagons, and 615 passenger coaches of other types, such as TVZ, PRC, and others.

It is worth noting that the company's strategic goal is to modernize 100% of the passenger wagon fleet by 2030.
