Around 60 tourists arrived in Almaty on an international tourist train from Xi'an

An international tourist train running on the Xi'an (PRC) – Almaty route arrived in Almaty, organized as part of the development of tourist rail connectivity between Kazakhstan and China. Around 60 tourists from various regions of China arrived on the train.

The train departed from the city of Xi'an on June 29 and crossed the state border via the Khorgos station. On the territory of Kazakhstan, the passengers continued their journey on a train set formed by "Passenger Transportation" JSC. For travel convenience, a special schedule was developed, taking into account the route's specific features and connection with international services.

During their several days' stay in Almaty, the tourists will get acquainted with the city's cultural and tourism potential, visit its main attractions, and participate in an excursion program.

The return departure of the tourist train from Almaty is scheduled for July 6. After that, the tourists will travel back to China via the Khorgos station.

This project has become an important step in strengthening cultural ties and developing tourism cooperation between Kazakhstan and China. It was implemented on the instructions of the Head of State and is among the key initiatives aimed at developing rail tourism and promoting Kazakhstan as a tourist destination.
