Urynbasarov took part in the 27th meeting of the Asia-Pacific regional Assembly of the International Union of Railways in Manila (Philippines).
The participants discussed the results of the current projects of the Asia-Pacific region in the field of transport and logistics, approved projects and activities for 2020, considered initiatives for 2021.
In his speech at the meeting B. Urynbasarov noted the intensive development of Transport and Logistics infrastructure of Kazakhstan.
Over the past 10 years, the total investment of the country in the development of infrastructure and transport and logistics assets amounted to more than 30 billion us dollars. During this period, 2.5 thousand km of Railways were built, about 19.5 thousand km of roads were reconstructed, port capacities in the Caspian sea were increased to 26 million tons, 15 airports were reconstructed.
"Given the pace of development of Internet trade, facilitation of border crossing procedures and the abolition of the visa regime, the transit potential of Kazakhstan will only grow, opening up new opportunities for doing business," B. Urynbasarov said.
The meeting discussed the appointment of the Deputy Chairman of the UIC APR, regional representatives to the Executive Board and the management Committee of the UIC APR for 2019-2020.
By the decision Of the meeting S. Mynbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC "KTZ" was appointed Deputy Chairman of Asia-Pacific regional Assembly of the International Union of Railways, President and General Director of KORAIL Son Ben Sok was elected a member of the Executive Board and management Committee.
As part of the the Asia-Pacific regional Assembly of the International Union of Railways activities, a delegation from Kazakhstan participated in the UIC project workshop, the railway innovation forum and the technical meeting of the Central Asian regional economic cooperation countries.
At the seminar, Kazakh railway workers presented three project initiatives: "Forecasting services using digital technologies", "Pilot for electronic devices", "an Integrated approach to collecting information about the ways for railway companies".
