The International Forum on standardization in the field of railway transport was held in Nur-Sultan on May 24, 2019.

The event was attended by representatives of the Federal Agency for Technical regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart), international organizations for standardization ISO/TC 269 "Railways", Interstate technical Committee №524 "Railway transport", members of the organization of the Technical Committee for standardization №40 "Railway transport", railway administrations of the CIS countries, etc.

Chairman of the Committee of technical regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of industry and infrastructure development of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliyev noted the importance of such events, where representatives of international, regional, national organizations for standardization, manufacturers can discuss topical issues.

Under the chairmanship of Managing Director – Chief engineer of JSC "NC "KTZ" Batyr Kotyrev, the participants discussed the prospects for further work on the development of railway standards in the world.

During the meeting, experts paid special attention to the application of digital standards, the integration of international and regional standards in the field of transport, the use of international certification tools.

The forum summed up the results of the week-long plenary meeting of the technical Committee of the International organization for standardization ISO/TC 269 "Railways" in the city of Nur-Sultan. The Chairman of ISO/TC 269, Yuji Nishe, briefed the participants on the activities of the Committee and encouraged all interested organizations to participate in the joint work.

Within the framework of the event, the most active standardization experts were awarded for their qualitative contribution to the development of the standardization system in the field of railway transport.
