New awards presented to Kazakhstani railway workers on Republic Day

New awards for railway workers were established as part of the initiatives of the Head of State to improve the status of a working person and the prestige of blue-collar jobs. The list of corporate awards of KTZ was expanded with the medal "Temirzhol danky", "Locomotive 500000 km, 1000000 km", "Uzdik zhas maman", "Uzdik temirzhol uzhymy", honorary titles to the best in the profession ("Uzdik zhol sheberi", "Energetik", "Uzdik baylanysshy", etc.).

On the eve of the Republic Day, over 4000 employees of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, who made a significant contribution to the development of the railway, were awarded state awards, the "Honorary Railwayman" badge and new incentives. At a ceremonial meeting in Astana, Minister of Transport M. Karabayev, Chairman of the Management Board of "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC N. Zhakupov, and the management of KTZ presented awards to track fitters, signalmen, power engineers, machinists, conductors, movers, train drivers, paramilitary security workers, and industry veterans who came from all regions of the country. 

The "Uzdik Temirzhol Uzhymy" challenge banner and a certificate were also presented to the best work collectives of linear enterprises that achieved the best performance in their activities.

The awardees are encouraged with cash bonuses or a salary supplement.

The gala event noted the enormous work and contribution of each railway worker. The increased role of the Kazakhstan Railway in the country's economic development was emphasized, as it celebrates its 120th anniversary this year.
 

Over the past 30 years, 2.5 thousand kilometers of railways have been built. By 2030, KTZ plans to build and modernize 5 thousand kilometers and repair 11 thousand kilometers of tracks. Today, large infrastructure projects are being implemented to build the Dostyk-Moiynty, Darbaza-Maktaaral, Zhetygen-Kazybek bek railway lines. The first of these facilities will be commissioned ahead of schedule in 2025.

Thanks to the systematic work and coherence of the 110000-strong team of railway workers, the rolling stock is being updated, the infrastructure is being modernized, and uninterrupted transportation of passengers and cargo is ensured. Freight turnover has grown by 12% in recent years. Revenue increased from 1.3 trillion. tenge to 2 trillion tenge in 2023. Profit increased 4 times by 2022. This is the best indicator of KTZ in the last 10 years.

As part of the implementation of the instructions of the country's leadership to increase transit potential, work is underway to create a transport and logistics framework. Terminals are being built, new logistics routes are being opened, and advanced information technologies are being introduced.
