The issues of increasing transit transportation of grain and flour from Kazakhstan through the territory of Uzbekistan were discussed at the meeting of the heads of railway administrations of the two countries with the participation of representatives of the ministries of investments and development, agriculture, agro-industrial complex, and owners of car parks.
S. Yelyubayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of "NC" KTZ" JSC, noted the growth of export of grain and flour from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan and stressed the readiness of the Kazakh side to create favorable conditions for increasing transit traffic.
Representatives of the railway administrations spoke in favor of taking measures to ensure unimpeded transport of Kazakh grain and flour through the Uzbek-Afghan border, the elimination of congestion, and the timely return of railway rolling stock.
The head of the department for economic analysis and forecasting of "Uzbekistan Temir Yollari" JSC B. Narimov informed about the accepted tariff preferences and the readiness of Uzbek railway workers to accept grain exports from Kazakhstan in full.
As a result of the meeting, direct contacts have been established between Uzbek railway workers and Kazakhstani shippers, which will promptly resolve issues related to the provision of transit traffic.
