On January 11, 2017, in the Republic of Kazakhstan the association of legal entities “International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” was registered.

The founders of the TITR Association are from the Kazakh side - JSC “NC” KTZ ”, Aktau International Sea Trade Port, from the Azerbaijani side - CJSC Azerbaijan Railways, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, Baku International Sea Port, from the Georgian side – JSC “Georgian railway ”, Batumi sea port. The activities of the Association are aimed at attracting transit and foreign trade cargoes, developing integrated logistics products along the TMTM route.

Also for the purposes of the Association- conducting an effective tariff policy, optimization of costs and cost of an integrated service, creation of a unified technology of the transportation process, assistance in reducing administrative barriers related to border and customs procedures and processing cargo and containers in ports of butt stations. All these measures are aimed at ensuring the competitiveness of TITR compared to alternative routes.

In 2017, the organization of the office of the Association of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, the development of the brand book and the launch of the official website of the Association were carried out. The level of tariffs has been reduced and constant work has been done to maintain a competitive level of rates, optimizing the transportation process (working on emerging issues, creating a pool, etc.). Continuous marketing work is underway to attract new goods to TITR, including exports from Kazakhstan and imports to Kazakhstan. In particular, the participating countries of TITR have worked out and approved all tariff issues and technical conditions for the passage of container cargoes on the Trans-Caspian route, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line.

A regular multimodal transport service along the TITR route and delivery of goods from China, Kazakhstan and Central Asia to the ports of Batumi and Poti and further to Turkey by road or sea transport has been established.

Due to the significant growth in demand for the provision of integrated services within the framework of this multimodal service, a significant increase in traffic on the TITR routes to Turkey and further to the countries of the Middle East and Southern Europe is expected.

A number of memorandums were signed with the China Communications and Transportation Association, with the Romanian port of S.A. Constanta, designed to initiate the entry of the Romanian port into IA “TITR”, in order to further develop the transport corridor connecting the ports of the Caspian and Black Seas and increase the existing traffic flows along TITR, with the Walloon Export and Investment Agency (Belgium), with the Shenzhen Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association (China).
