A new Board of Directors is elected in KazATC and new President-Rector was appointed

On 22nd of February the General Meeting of Shareholders the Company "Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communication named after M. Tynyshpayev" in Almaty has elected the Board of Directors of the Company "Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communication named after M. Tynyshpayev" as follows:

Akchurin Askhat Kharisovich - Vice - President of Human Resources and Social Affairs of JSC "NC "KTZ";
 
Orynkhanov Murat Kadesovich - Vice - Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
 
Ibraimov Kalymzhan Ualihanovich - Deputy Chairman of the State Property and Privatization of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
 
Abdymomunova Leila Myrzadanovna - Independent Director;
 
Boranbaev Anuar Bolatovich - Independent Director;
 
Kuanyshev Bakhytzhan Mukhanbetovich.
 
The same day the new Board of Directors of the company "Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communication named after M. Tynyshpayev" held its first meeting.
 
Following the meeting it was decided to elect Askhat Akchurin as a Chairman of the Board of Directors, and to appoint  Bakhytzhan Kuanyshevas a President-Rector of the company "Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communication named after M. Tynyshpayev."
 
Kuanyshev Bakhytzhan Mukhanbetovich was born in 1957.
 
In 1982 he graduated from Almaty Institute of Railway Engineers (AIRE) in 1990 postgraduate studies of AIRE, in 1988 PhD from Moscow State University of Transport and communications.
 
From 1985 to 2006 he was engaged in research and teaching, including as director of  KazATC.
 
From August 2006 to the present he held various management positions of JSC "NC "KTZ".
 
Before the appointment as Rector B. Kuanyshev was Head of the rolling stock department of JSC "NC "KTZ". He is a doctor of technical sciences, professor.

LKZ: practical help in the dual training

Center for Technology in transport of JSC "NC "KTZ" and "Locomotive kгrastyru zauyty" forged a close partnership in the implementation of programs for dual training of staff and students of railway transport colleges.

From August 2012 to the present day JSC "Locomotive kгrastyru zauyty" was attended by over 700 students of the Centre from the employees of the group of companies of JSC "NC "KTZ" and about 300 students of specialized colleges from Astana, Almaty, Taraz directed to the center for practical training in the dual system.
 
 
 
Students in the field of locomotive facilities had the opportunity to visit the only company in Kazakhstan to produce a new generation of locomotives, to see high-tech equipment to ensure strict quality control of products. Benefits of a diesel Kazakh production were explained in detail to visitors to the plant, given the opportunity to ask any questions and get advice.
 
In addition, the management of JSC "Locomotive kurastyru zauyty" provides practical assistance to the Centre to attract teachers from technical and engineer fields who teach students, employees of companies of JSC "NC "KTZ" and college students branch of practical skills.
 
- The students of our Center are very interested in visiting the first pride of domestic engineering. They have the opportunity to see with their own eyes that the enterprise is not just a screwdriver assembly TE33A locomotives, it provides a wide range of parts, - said the master of industrial training center Bolat Tolekpaev.

KTZ continues dual training

JSC "National Company" Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" qualitative changes the system of professional training. The company provided an educational grant for 400 students. The Center for technologies in transport students from 17 colleges of railway profile will be trained in Astana on practical training using advanced learning technologies. Future work will acquire the railroad rolling stock, units and equipment of the latest generation. Thus, training for railway turned to the dual principle - the symbiosis of theory and practice.

  

Equipment and technology   change intensively on highways in Kazakhstan, which make special demands on tomorrow's graduates.

 
A unique opportunity allows to update Training Center where the samples of modern railway vehicles, training simulators, a program of practical training for future railway workers in the field: "The operation, repair and maintenance of rolling stock", "Organization of transportation and traffic management in railway transport" "Automation, Remote Control and Motion Control on the railways", "Construction of railways, road and track facilities" and "Power" are shown.
 
According to the results of practical training at the Center, students who successfully confirmed their qualifications will be employed at the Company.
 
Dual advantages of education are obvious: the company will receive young professionals, who did not only gain practical skills in their field and who have mastered the technique used on the railway, but also adapted to the corporate culture.

KTZ and LR increased turnover

On 7th of February Latvian President A. Berzins received the President of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" A. Mamin in Riga.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Transport of Latvia A. Ronis and the president of the Latvian Railway W. Magonis.
 
During the meeting the sides exchanged information on railway freight turnover between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Latvia for the year 2012. There was an increase of growth for 21% - up to 3.4 million tons. The export through Latvia was increased by 28%. And the volume of import cargo from Latvia to Kazakhstan in 2012 increased by 60%.
 
The potential of the Latvian ports was reviewed and discussed as well. With the increase in traffic along the East – West, the possibility of increasing the transit of NATO cargoes through Latvia and Kazakhstan was examined.

Kazakhstan was offered Swiss trains

Swiss manufacturer of railway vehicles offered their products. These and other issues were discussed today at JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" by representatives of Kazakh-Swiss Business Council (KSBC).

Agreement on the establishment of Kazakh-Swiss Business Council was signed in October 23, 2012 in Zurich.
 
KSBC activity as coordinating and advisory body will be aimed at improving the efficiency of business relations between companies and organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Switzerland, especially in the energy, engineering, vocational and technical education, management of industrial and municipal wastes, pharmaceuticals, railways and etc . 
 
The parties have agreed to hold KSBC meetings at least twice a year. One of the meetings will be held on the eve and at the same place of the next meeting of the Kazakh-Swiss commission for trade and economic cooperation.
 
Co-Chairman of the Kazakhstan side of KSBC is Chairman of the Board of JSC "National nuclear company "Kazatomprom" V. Shkolnik, on the Swiss side - President and owner of the Stadler Rail AG Swiss company Peter Spuler.
 
Today Vice President of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Ermek Kizatov met with Peter Spuler. A video about the products of Stadler Rail AG was shown during the meeting. Locomotives and wagons, and even the trams that run between both in Western and Eastern Europe of Swiss company. In addition, vehicles of Stadler Rail AG are used on the railways USA and Brazil. More recently, the company develops market countries with 1520 mm gauge - rolling stock were made for Finland and Belarus. In the coming days are expected to sign a contract to establish a joint venture to produce cars in Azerbaijan. Ermek Kizatov and Peter Spuler discussed prospects of cooperation of JSC "NC "KTZ" and Stadler Rail AG.
 
Currently, the Board formed KSBC from the Kazakh side which includes representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "NC "KTZ" and "Samruk-Kazyna Invest".

Success on a snowy track

Employees of the company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy took part in competitions in skiing in Astana. The competition was supported by Saryarka district branch of PDP "Nur Otan".  Emloyees brought to the sport treasury of KTZ third place in the individual competition and a high command result.

The competition program for ski-roller track consisted of individual races of men at a distance of 1 km and women at a distance of 500m.
 
At the finish trails workers showed the following results: the bronze medal among women went to an expert department of software development branch of JSC "NC "KTZ"-" MCC" Mariana Doschanova. Operator of the branch of JSC "NC "KTZ"-Astana station Olga Makalkina took fifth place. In races of men athletes-railroadmen came to the finish in the top twenty. Among the given large number of runners - 168 people - the result is very good.

Single tariff works for the benefit of countries’ economies

On 1st of January 2013 uniform tariffs for the transportation of goods in the export, import and domestic communications of the railways of the Single Economic Space came into force.

As part of the intergovernmental agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on the regulation of access to rail transport in the new year for transportation of goods from the territory of one Member State through the territory of another Member State to a third country and vice versa, and the transport of goods between the States Parties, each Party shall apply a uniform tariff of each Party.
 
In order to implement the provisions of the Agreement, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation of Natural Monopolies in the consideration of the application of JSC "NC" KTZ" to increase freight tariffs from January 1, 2013 has approved them based on the unification of types of messages. As a result, a unified billing for rail transportation, regardless of the direction of transport of the goods was created.
 
This unification on some goods was achieved by lowering export prices and increasing domestic and import tariffs. Thus, the major reduction in export tariffs on oil produced - 58%, for crude oil - 37%, for coal - 11% for grain - 10%.

Branch enterprise of KTZ is certified according to the quality of services

Subsidiary of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy – JSC "Kaztransservice" passed the voluntary certification of transport services of Kazakhstan Centre of Management and Logistics in transport.

Verifying compliance with the standards of quality of "Kaztransservice" transport services was launched in December 2012. For weeks, experts from the Centre of Management and Logistics Transport assessed the work of all the structures through interviewing staff, analysis of documents regulating the activity of the departments, the implementation of measures to improve the company's quality system.
 
Based on the audit JSC "Kaztransservice" was issued a certificate confirming that the forwarding service requirements of ST RK 1294-2004 "Forwarding service on the railways."
 
JSC "KTS" pays great attention to the development of transport and logistics services. The company provides services for the organization of rail, sea and road transport for Kazakh and foreign partners. Medical train "Densaulyk" has started trip to the South Kazakhstan region

Specialized medical train "Densaulyk" departed from the station Almaty-2 to the south. On January 31 it will arrive at the station Shoytobe where doctors of regional branch of "Railway Hospitals Emergency Medicine" will begin receiving patients.

 

- Our train is always taken on the first path. This is done for the convenience of people who want to get quality medical care. At each station we stand from day to three days during which doctors are receiving patients.
 
The schedule of "Densaulyk" train has 28 stations in South Kazakhstan. In March it will make 25 stops in Zhambyl region. Later, it faces up to 20 stations in Kyzylorda region, - says the chief doctor Syrym Azhgaliev.
 
The train will serve patients within 87 days.The train’s basic 4 of 8 cars converted under medical services and equipped with modern facilities, which often cannot be found in the district and city hospitals. In the 17 offices 30 trained health workers will make daily reception in various fields.
 
Usually they serve 200 to 300 people a day.
 
The project is being implemented by the organization of JSC "National Company" Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" and the Ministries of Emergency Situations and Health for three years. Started in 2010 it has been recognized throughout the country. It is unusual itself since the first time the organizers offered a fundamentally new type of mobile multi-specialized consulting and diagnostic services for railway workers and their families, urban and rural residents in remote areas.
 
Now 3 special medical trains run over the republic. Along with the "Densaulyk" in the south, the train "Zhardem" on 25st of February will go to the Western regions - Magistau, Atyrau, Aktobe and West Kazakhstan region. A little later "Salamatty Kazakhstan" will start running to the northern areas of the country.
 
Radiography, computed tomography, dental treatment rooms, operating small, ultrasound diagnostics, endoscopy, as well as coaches for living and recreation for staff operate in medical trains.
 
Internists, pediatricians, neurologists, ophthalmologists, surgeons and other physicians work as a part of medical teams. All of them have highest qualification category.

KTZ: preventing skids and floods

Over the past week the railroad workers cleared the 8694 km of track and evacuated more than 230 thousand cubic meters of snow.

Cleaning was raised over 13,000 employees. 522 of snow removal equipment were involved.
 
Much of the work took place in the areas of Akmola, Karagandy, Pavlodar and Semey offices. Due to timely action of railway workers line is in normal operation, train schedule was not affected.
 
In addition, to prevent the accumulation of water experts regularly perform tests to identify the places where snow pills up. As the melting goes on KTZ will be working on the development of trenches and drainage of water, cleaning culverts, readiness checks culverts, dams and reservoirs.
 
By skipping the expected large volume of water of the Syrdarya Kyzylorda branch formed four “anti wash away” trains. At the moment 17 platforms of rubble (500 m3) were loaded and put on the forming station.
 
For the Southern region 14platforms of exposed rubble were determined for Tulkibas station, to the station Arys - 5 platforms of rubble, 1 platform of rail package and one platform of substandard sleepers, for 3 platforms of rubble were put for Mankent station.
