KTZ held the 15th meeting of Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly of UIC

The main item on the agenda was the approval of the Strategic Action Plan for the organization of 2013 - 2016 years which contributes to the efficient solution of common problems for rail operators.

Opening the meeting the president of JSC "NC "KTZ" Askar Mamin said that UIC was an effective communication tool for railway workers and meets  contemporary global challenges.
 
 
Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly of the International Union of Railways Satoshi Seino commented that the railways of the region have a great future.
 
- The rate of development of the Asia-Pacific region has recently been very impressive in all areas compared with other regions in the world. The railroad played an important role in the mobility of the population, the development of industries and cities. In the modern history of railways Asia-Pacific region will become more important and the main player - he said.
 
  According to Mr. Seino, UIC is the largest organization of railways in the world. Its members include 200 train operators and research institutions from 90 countries. The purpose of the UIC is to support and promote the railways, their cooperation to improve the development of the railway industry worldwide. He also stressed the economic successes of Kazakhstan and the growing role of its steel tracks.
 
- I am grateful for KTZ desire to maintain the post of Regional Vice - Presidency and to hold Assembly in Astana - said S.Seyno. - Kazakhstan is located in the center of Asia, and we are deeply impressed with its economic development. I am sure that KTZ will play an increasingly important role in the field of technology and human resources in our region. I look forward to see the day when KTZ makes a significant contribution as the only Asian leader.
 
KTZ actively promotes the competitiveness of the rail network in the region. Askar Mamin informed the guests about the recent launch of direct railway crossing between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
 
- KTZ is open for cooperation with partners and colleagues from the Asia - Pacific Regional Assembly, - resumed the head of KTZ.

The contract on delivery of locomotives from Kazakhstan to Estonia was signed

JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” and Estonian company "AS Vopak E.O.S.  Ltd." signed the contract on acquisition of 15 locomotives of TE33A made in Kazakhstan. 

The solemn signing of the contract on delivery of 15 engines of production of JSC “Lokomotiv kurastyru zauyty” took place in the central building of KTZ in Astana.
 
 
From the Kazakhstani part the document was signed by the President of JSC “NC “KTZ” Askar Mamin, from Estonian - the Chairman of the board of AS Vopak E.O.S.  Ltd.  Arnaut Lugtmeyer. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister of Economics and communications of the Republic of Estonia Yukhan Parts and the President of General Electric Transportation Lorenzo Simonelli. 
 
Yukhan Parts in his welcoming speech emphasized importance of bilateral cooperation and hope for further of interaction between two countries.
 
Askar Mamin stated that Estonia was an important partner for Kazakhstan in the trade - economic relations, and today's signing was clear proof of a fruitful relationship.
 
Negotiations between JSC "LKZ" and AS Vopak EOS Ltd., which is the largest independent terminal operator in the Baltic States, began in 2010.
 
In December 2011, the Kazakh side provided TE33A locomotive number 0080 for renting for operational testing at the site of Railways of the Republic of Estonia. The test lasted five months.
 
According to the results of tests, as well as after the performance analysis of competitive locomotive models from other manufacturers, the Estonian side came to conclusion to purchase locomotives manufactured in Kazakhstan.

KTZ will hold international competitions in alpine skiing

From 24 February to 1 March 2014 the ski resort Shymbulak in Almaty to host international competitions in Alpine skiing at the International Union of Railwaymen athletes. The decision was taken today at the completed presidium of the organization of Burabayresort district of Akmola region.

The meeting was attended by 32 participants from 16 countries.
 
A welcoming speech to the participants of the Presidium addresses the chief of the Office of Social Work at KTZ Korlan Medikhanova. She thanked the leadership of USIC for their trust and wished them success.
 
The Secretary-General of USIC Martin Vesterbik made a report who thanked all the members of USIC for fruitful cooperation.
 
Representatives of USIC listened to the reports on sport events carried on in the first half of 2013, and training events in the second half of the year. 
 
On the final day, the participants discussed the issues of USIC Congress.

The meeting on the global interaction

In Astana the International Union of Railways held the fourth seminar of Asian region for the database in the field of security and the fifth meeting of the technical directors of the UIC Asia.

Participants from 10 countries in the region to discuss the results of the data obtained in the field of security for 2012, indicators on security measures and plans of cooperation in the framework of the UIC for 2013-2014.
 
 
During the workshop Managing Director of Traffic Safety of JSC "NC "KTZ" Kadyl Talaspekov informs foreign colleagues about the measures taken to ensure the safety of the railways of Kazakhstan.
 
The meeting will consider other issues covering all areas of railways of UIC in the field of global freight and passenger services including high-speed rail, commuter and regional communications.
 
Chairman of the Working group on Rail Transport of International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations «FIATA» Mr. Ivan Petrov presents the projects of the Association related to the development of international transport corridors.
 
Tomorrow, May 23 this year UIC will continue meeting of the 15th Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly which will attend the President of JSC "NC "KTZ" A. Mamin who serves as Vice-Chairman of the UIC Asia-Pacific Region.
 
The International Union of Railways (UIC) was founded in 1922. Currently the organization represents about 200 member countries, 82 countries of which are active members, 80 are associative members and 35 are affiliate members.
 
The main goals of the organization are to strengthen cooperation, promote the further development of rail transportation, assistance to improve the operational performance of railways in the world.

JSC "NC "KTZ"and EBRD expand cooperation

Today at JSC "NC" KTZ "the Company's President Askar Mamin met with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development headed by the President of the EBRD's S. Chakrabarti.

As part of the official meeting they discussed issues of cooperation between JSC "NC "KTZ" with the EBRD, the activity of which dates back to 2008. Thus, under the contract, in 2008, the Bank financed project of JSC "Transtelecom" for the construction of fiber - optic communication lines. JSC "NC "KTZ" were guaranteed a period of 10 years.
 
 
For today were signed three contracts to borrow EBRD - one with JSC "Transtelecom", two - with «Kaztemirtrans."
 
In 2010, the Bank was offered to finance projects aimed at energy conservation, increase energy efficiency and technical assistance. In early 2013, the Bank together with the European Investment Bank indicated a willingness to consider proposals for cooperation.
 
During the meeting the President of JSC "NC "KTZ" informed the partners of the company's investment, and the creation of new projects on the basis of JSC "NC "KTZ" multi-modal transport – Logistics company of international level.
 
Following the meeting the Mandate Letter was signed between of JSC "NC "KTZ" and the EBRD on the possibility of financing the program of energy efficiency.

Summer schedule of trains

JSC "Passenger transportation" informs passengers about the transition to the summer schedule of trains from May 26 2013.

 
 
During the development of the new schedule wishes of the passengers were taken into account. Schedule includes seasonal routes drawn up taking into account the needs of passengers traveling during holidays and vacations. Additional cars and routes were added. For example, the route number 483/484 between Astana - Adler, the daily running of high-speed train number 151/152 between Almaty and Petropavl was launched.  In addition, JSC “Passenger transportation” has introduced a new high-speed route generated from “ Tulpar-Talgo” coaches running from Almaty to Atyrau with the frequency of movement through the day and other routes.
 
All changes in the schedule of passenger trains, including additional coaches, trains and new routes, arrival and departure times at the stations can be found at www.temirzholy.kz, or at the railway ticket office and information service desks at the stations.

Sport games in Astana

The meeting of the Presidium of the International Union of Railwaymen athletes - USIC is opened in Astana. The main theme of the meeting is discussion of the organization of sporting events in 2016.

The meeting is attended by delegations of heads of railway sports agencies and representatives of the railway administrations of 16 countries, including Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, France and others. The meeting will last until May 24 in Shortandy area of Akmola region. May 20 and 21 guests were greeted at the main office of the railway company.
 
 
Welcoming colleagues, Managing Director, Chief of Staff of KTZ Ermek Tolegenov said that every year on average more than 200 sporting events with the participation of more than 20 000 people are held on the railroad. The company sponsors the teams "Barys" (hockey) and "Lokomotiv" (football), all divisions of KTZ have their own traditions of sport and recreation.
 
The participants were invited to the sport hall and swimming pool of KTZ's central office where the regular sections and individual lessons on mini-football, basketball, volleyball, fitness, athletics, swimming, aqua aerobics are held.
 
They visited the center of automatic transportation management and learned more about the country's railways.
 
JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" was included in the International Union of Railwaymen athletes in 2010. Since 2011 KTZ athletes participate in its events and competitions.
 
In February 2014 KTZ will organize international competitions in skiing in the framework of USIC.

Transit trains have passed kazakh-turkmen border

Today the first train departed from Bolashak station 2013goda at 4.15 pm and at 4.58 pm by Astana time it has arrived at the station Serhetyaka (Turkmenistan).

The freight train has 46wagons from Smirnovo station of Akmola branch of the road of "NC" KTZ ".
 
After the cargo through the port of Turkmenbashi-1 will overcome the Caspian Sea and will be overloaded in Baku port. After that it will be delivered to the consumer.
 
At the same time second train of 44 loaded grain wagons  has arrived at Bolashak station. It is waiting to be send to Azerbaijan as well.

Today the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev received the President of Joint Stock Company "National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy"Askar Mamin.

Issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of railway transport, freight turnover between the two countries, crossing of goods in transit were discussed at the meeting.

Excellent service at Astana station

At the train station Astana services designed to improve customer service are upgraded. One of the latest innovations is the use of the information management system "ARM AGKR" allowing simplify maintenance of customers.
 
 
- In this system the trade cashier can see the availability of funds in the current account of the client and make short-term reservation of money for ease of maintenance - said director of the branch of JSC "NC "KTZ"-"Astana station" Saken Kassenov. - To speed up the processing of shipping documents are available in the trade box office of ACS VDCs, TCE ARM, ARM AGKR, cash registers, post-terminals for the calculation of plastic cards and other equipment.
 
In order to further simplify procedures and services for the preparation and administration of cargo to the station at the initiative of Saken Kassenov the number of reception desks in the trade box office were increased, operation of trade cashiers in shifts was entered. For the convenience of the customer premises of cargo receivers and deliverers was relocated in front of trade cashbox.
 
Given the Western European model of working with clients it is planned to introduce a commercial agent who combines responsibilities of cargo receivers and deliverers and trade cashier at Astana station. The client will not use various departments’ service as all matters of transportation will be addressed in one place instead.
 
The capital's station considers the possibility of introducing such transactions for clients such as counseling, tracking, planning and embarkation until the moment of cargo delivery, opening of the service center, the introduction of modern terminal stations in major commercial areas, the implementation of several sidings.
 
- Measures must ensure customer service to a higher quality level, to meet the population's needs for comprehensive services, improve the competitiveness of the transport market of Kazakhstan, - said the first deputydirector of the station E. Burkitov.
